Moving to Okinawa..Driving Part 1

Our stuff is on the moving truck/plane/ship, suitcases have been packed, car loaded, we have said our good byes, cried our tears....and now we are on the road.

My goal was to write on our blog everyday. But the first few days of our road trip were rocky. Day 1- drove from Greenwood, SC to Lexington, KY.  Our morning started with us sleeping through 3 alarms, van battery dieing twice, Isabel had the stomach flu, Aydin was car sick and came down with a fever at bed time.  Ugghhh.  Day 2- Answered Prayers!! Isabel was better, Aydin's fever was gone and we were leaving early in the morning to beat the storm. We drove from Lexington, KY to Peoria, IL. Day 3- Ahhh, we got to sleep in, we gained an hour with the time zones, and it snowed! We arrived in Iowa City, Iowa!!

Fall....

The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful fall this year! I guess He is wanting me to see some of the treasures that South Carolina holds; before we go.  The trees have been bright colors of red, orange, yellow and some even look a peachy pink color.  Most trees have changed at the same time this year and it is breathtaking. Every time we step out side or go for a drive, we are praising God for His creation.
It has made me realize that I don't always praise God the way I should. Sometimes it just does not come as a natural response when I go through my daily routine.  So I am thankful for this fall. I am reminded that my God deserves my praise and thankfulness, every moment of ever day for the rest of my days.

The Life of Recruiting Duty......

Here we are, one month left to go on our 3 year trek of Recruiting Duty. Part of me thinks..."ah, what was so bad" then the weaker side thinks "I am so glad this is over." After all of it though, I am thankful for this trial. I have grown in the Lord. He has shown me that He is my strength, my all, my husband (when my husband is on duty), He has sustained me, provided for us, most of all He has given us a desire to live for Him completely and go out to further His kingdom.  With that, as we move onto our next duty, we look at it as an opportunity to serve our Glorious and Wonderful God. We wait in anticipation to see how the Lord will use us, shape us and  mold us.

My day is calling and so are 4 little girls that need their mama.

Marine Corps here we are for another 4 years! We are thankful though, and thankful that the Lord provides and guides our days! May everyone have a blessed day!

Aydin Elizabeth.....Our new little girl

Aydin Elizabeth ....Born March 13, 2009. Weighed 8lbs 13oz..... was 20 1/4 inches....and is a very good baby! Loves her sisters and they love her. We are very blessed and thankful to add her to our family.

Another day in the Vargas home

We are enjoying another rainy day here in Greenwood, SC. Our morning was filled with lots of noises; ranging from laughter, screams, tears, and talking. Lunch came much too quickly today. My list of chores is still undone, but we have accomplished other fun tasks. A tent has been planted in the middle of our living room, cuddles have gotten done, and Bailee is learning how to tell time. Wednesdays are an exciting day for our family. This is the day that we are able to have Daddy come home early to either enjoy a dinner with us girls, or to load up the car and head to Bible study. Thank you Lord for this wonderful day that you have made!!

Our Newest Family Member

I have not been a very good author for our blog. Life has kept me on my toes for the last 6 months. We have moved to a new house, our newest family member was born, and I have had my gall bladder removed. Time sure passes us by while we are enjoying what life throws at us.

Been a Long Time

WOW! It has been a long time! Sorry to all who check my blog. Life has gotten busy in the Vargas house. Just a quick catch up. I was supposed to have my gall bladder out on July 18th, but the good Lord surprised us with a, YOUR PREGNANT! So I still have my gall bladder and and waiting for March 18th to get here. I have been very sick, but am doing much better. The doctors have given me medicine to control the sickness and I am feeling more normal now.
The girls have all had birthdays! Anais and Isabel are now officially 2! Bailee is now officially 5 and a Kinderdgartner! I am going to post some pictures, so stay tuned!

Picture order

I should specify-
Top-Bailee
Middle-Anais
Lower-Isabel
Just so you know the twins in the pictures that I posted under the 4th of July.

4th of July

These are just a few pictures from our 4th of July celebration. We had a fun time, but it was a very late night. The fire works did not start until 10:00. The girls enjoyed them though. I was worried that the Anais and Isabel would be afraid, but the clapped and ooooed and ahhhhed with everyone else. Bailee just laughed and giggled the entire show. I will write more later to catch up on our last few weeks. Sorry that the posting has not been regular. I will catch up though. Much love from the Vargas Family

Hot Hot Hot!!!

Well I guess we are having a heat wave!! It has been very hot, high 90's or a little over 100. We have set up the kids' pool in the back yard in the shade. So it makes it a more pleasant day. My girls were not born swimmers though. Bailee has her float swimsuit and she will only sit in the 3 inch deep water and the twins won't even get in the water. So we are trying to learn to get used to the water. Silly girls! I will try and get some pictures of them swimming. Well I am going to end with that for today.

Doctors and more Doctors

well Bailee bug is sick once again. The doctor said that she has an ear infection. Well as the day went on, she felt more sick, her fever shot up, and she was complaining of a soar throat. I looked in her mouth tonight while I was brushing her teeth and UUGGGHH!! The whole roof of her mouth looks like red strawberry dots and her throat is covered in puss pockets. MY POOR BABY!! So we are on fever duty tonight. Or should I say I am on fever duty tonight. I can't sleep through my alarm though. Last time I did (a few weeks ago) Bailee had a seizure from her fever getting so high. Now I have several different alarms to set. Oh my doctor went okay. My gallbladder is only putting out 10% of the 65% that it is supposed to. So hopefully that 10% will hold out a little bit longer. I don't have time to get sick or especially have surgery. Anyways, another doctor day gone by... :) Just so everyone knows. This is Isabel, I think, sometimes old pictures are hard for me to tell just who it is. But I am just posting pictures at random. This one is from our move. I believe that it was taken in Texas.

Long Day Already

Today started with two friends of mine coming over and helping me in the yard. Shara stayed inside with the kids and Tanya and I hit the yard. WOW!! We have a lot of over grown stuff out there. It looks sooo much better now. We finished about half of it and will tackle it again another day. That was a good workout though. :) The girls had fun playing. So now it is after nap time and it is time to enjoy our evening. We are working at getting dinner started and then heading to Bible study.

The twins had a great time at the ice cream social! Anais is in the pink, Isabel in the green. We finally caught a picture of them being nice to eachother.. lol

Another week ahead of us. We had a great weekend with lots of activities. Saturday we enjoyed an ice cream social with our church family. The girls had a great time. There was a huge yard for everyone to run around, rocks to climb on and a bridge. Today, we enjoyed lunch after Church with friends. Which Bailee loved because they had lots of toys at their house. Daddy had to work after lunch, but the girls and I came home for a nap! It was hot in Greenwood today. In the 90's with humidity! We are going to have a long summer trying to acclimate to the humidity. So next summer should be nice. :) I hope everyone had a wonderful day!!

Back Home

Well we made it back from Columbia. Now it is time for the dinner rush and bedtime routines. :) Driving through South Carolina is like driving through a tunnel of tall trees. Makes you feel a little closed in if you are used to being on the West Coast. I am going to try and get some pictures on here so that we can keep everyone updated. Have a great night!

This was our Easter picture, before we realized that we had sat the girls in an ant pile!! Needless to say, we didn't get many group pictures of the girls this day. No one would sit down after this.
